OH MY GOD!

In the last class we had of didactic, we had to make a lesson with a didactic strategy. They´re a lot of them, then we had to read all of it and after that choose one and be able to use it in a class.

Our group was consisted of: Isabel, Eva, Sara Sánchez, Pablo, Laura and me (Raúl García). On Tuesday we had time to meet our group in class. There we decided to read all the different strategies and once we finished it, we had to choose a few of them and said ideas for it. After we made this, we consider that the best idea we had was with the brainstorming. What means this? Brainstorming is a didactic strategy which consists on telling different ideas or concepts that you have in relation with a concrete theme.

We thought about this definition and we told us: “this could be awesome and interesting, we need to promote the participation of the children and let them time to think about a theme and they will be able to say anything they have in their minds”.

It is incredible, but we also made use of this strategy because we started making a brainstorming to make the class. After a short period of time, we decided to make it about science, but in relation with the energy expenditure. We thought this because if the children be concerned about this theme, they will do it at home and convinced their parents to make the same and they´ll learn more and better, because this will return into knowledge soon.

After that, we started thinking about what activities we can make to elaborate the class and make them think and have a good time at the same time. These activities came to us so early, we had improved so much in these things, we are more creative than in the first days of classes.

We made 3 different activities and they will be more things beyond those activities, they will also have to make a mural and paste all the solutions they had think and write in their papers on it. With this mural they will be able to read all days they want because is a work made by them and it will be paste in the classroom.
We also thought the objectives we want to work with these activities and with this didactic strategy. These objectives were: - Promote the participation. - To make the people think in their own. - To respect the turn of speaking to the rest of the people. - To reduce the shyness, because all the ideas which are connected with the theme are valid. - To know how to work in different ways (individually, smalls groups…)

We had defended and expose our lesson perfectly, they had a good time and they also participate so much, it was cool. We had make a good job. CONGRATULATIONS group.
Now you will see why the title is that, you will understand it perfectly. I consider that this title is the best for this aticle for the simple reason that I am in that stage, I am so impressed and fascinated because we have improve all of us so much in this short period of time. If we make a summary or a review from the first classes until this final class, you could see all the good things we have learn because we are much better nowadays.

First classes we had prepare for this subject, if you compare it with this last one you could be able to see the difference between those two. Is incredible.
I think that my class is so good, we are a small group, only 21 persons on it, then I understand that it is easier, but it is also so good for us because is more easy to concentrate, to learn, to teach, to explain things, not to get distracted…

I have to say that this subject have improve our skills in the period we have it, but I have to say that this period is so short, I think is a subject that need more time for a better comprehension and better development, but instead of the time, I am so happy and fascinate with it because I have learn a lot with it.

I WISH YOU A MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR FOR ALL MY READERS.

Kisses and hugs for all of you.

Loves,

Raúl García.

I´M LEARNING !

First of all I have to say that I don´t like to make shorts blogs or entrance, because I think that you don’t really learn anything in a simple class. In my point of view you need a couple o many classes to realize that you are learning things and they are becoming knowledge instead you know it.

In the previous classes we were talking about different ways to teach and what of them is better, where they are better and why they are better. In my opinion if we are able to mix all of it we become better teachers in a future and we are going to know how to explain in different ways and with different methods.

At first I have to say that I think that I´m not learning so much or nothing, but the case is that I’m a swimming pool teacher and without knowing it, I have started to use all of this kind of methodologies. This weekend I have had a swimming pool competition with my students and I have used different ways to prepared them to the race they will have to do.

Sometimes I used the behaviorism method, but I also made use of constructivism and social constructivism, and when I realize that I had been using them I told myself: “how my god! I´m really learning, I know when I am using that methods and how I can improve it.  My didactic class is making so good work to me, I´M IMPRESSED!”

Also we had been talking about the comparison in knowledge, the child, learning and evaluation in different curriculum ideologies. We compared and stand out the principal aspect of all of it. The different curriculum ideologies I´m talking about are: “scholar academic ideology, social efficiency, learner centered ideology and social reconstruction ideology”.

The teacher used a good way to know thing about all of them, we made some role-playing and this was so interesting because we had to guess what character is in which curriculum ideology.
The clue and the most important thing is that I´m learning and using all the aspects and methodologies I had acquire in this classes.

Thanks all my learners. I will write a little more soon.

WHAT I HAVE LEARNED IN DIDACTICS?

Well, it is a very difficult question, because it could refer about what have you learn (theory) and also what have you learn (practical) but it also could be as: what have you learn (far away of the lessons, for example, organization, talking to the group, express your opinion or point of view,… there are several things that are inside the class but we don’t know it).

In this post, I would talk about those three things and tell my point of view of each part and my experience when I was in the school.

Firstly I will summary you what I have learn (theory) at class. At the moment, I have learned a lot of things that I don’t really know how I have done it. I am impressive how I have learned the difference between LOE and LOMCE and what the curriculum is (IT IS NOT THE CURRICULUM THAT YOU TAKE TO GET A JOB). It is also true that the firsts lessons I was a little bit lose, but one day our teacher had made the best summary (diagram) of curriculum I have ever seen. With this scheme I had understand perfectly the different levels that curriculum has and what is inside of each level.

Continuing with the theory we have also learn the different point of view that some philosopher had about education and how we had to teach. All of each are in the truth, but it also depend in the era they had life.
In my opinion we all have to know what the curriculum is and we should applied it in our life and in our future when we will be teachers. That will be so useful for us to make better classes. I think that we should heed about what curriculum say to us and we can take things of this philosopher, for example, how to organize your classroom, this will be so helpful to your students. You have to make your classes as practical as you can and do it in groups because like that they have more participation and they could talk more each other and they will work better. For this reason is important to have prepared you classes at home and look over it the previous they. I have one thing clear since I was a child (and more now because I am a swimming pool teacher) and it is that the best way to learn is playing and having a good time, because the relationship between student and teacher is closer and they learn more like that.

Secondly I am going to talk about the practical class we had made. Our teacher put us a context that if we had 25 students with 11 nationalities and not all of them speak and understand the same language, what we have to do to explain it the units, the tens, to add and to subtract. We had made it in groups of 4 or 5 people each (I had say before that is one of the best way to teach and learn). When we had talk about it we had to explain and do it for the class, we could use whatever we want and need. This class was awesome because all we learn that the language didn’t have to be the problem the case is to do it as practical as we could and that child could participate as much as they could.

I had said it inside but I am going to put in here. I think to work in smalls groups is better to improve the conversation and participation of the student. Here we had the motivation that after we talk the solution in the group we had to do it to all the class and think that they were our students, it was so funny and interesting; we all had done it awesome and special. Here we saw the different points of view and forms to teach.
Finally I want to say that we are learning a lot of different things without knowing it, is something involuntary. We are learning how to express and include your thoughts to the group. We are also learning to be patient in learning things. Although we are learning to talk in the small group we also are doing it in the big group, to talk to all the class. We have also made more things but I had to remark that kinds of things that have improve and mature me. I will tell more of it in next post I promise I will make for you guys.

Doing all that kinds of thing I can remember my TAFAD classes of ADG (administración y dirección de grupos) where we had to work in groups and made activities for the rest of the classes (games for knowing each other in the firsts day, to had good time, etc.) it was awesome to return your mind to that kind of classes where I learn a lot about how to manage groups and child. We also go outside the class to change the place and make it more interesting and it have a good result. This teacher was brilliant (she was my tutor in second of TAFAD) I have her phone number and we meet sometimes to tell us how our lives are, the way of teaching, problems she and me have nowadays with our students… she was very close to us. I have her method of teaching, she is my reference.
